Kathleen Mary House has been selected as a State Farm Neighborhood AssistĀ® Top 200 Finalist and needs your votes!
The Kathleen Mary House is a Southtowns transitional house that opened its doors to women and their children who are victims of domestic
violence and need safe, short-term housing. The Kathleen Mary House benefits families in this Western New York area. With over 4,000 new cases of
domestic violence reported in 2017 in Erie County, 3,000 of those cases being an attack on a female victim, there is a grave problem that needs to
be addressed now. When the women are brave enough to escape, they should have alternatives to going back to the abuse and violence. The Kathleen Mary House
is more than just a place to live; it is a place of new beginnings. Residents are given the physical, emotional, and spiritual assistance they
need in a secure, nurturing environment. The programs offered teach the women and children how to break the cycle of violence giving them back
their dignity and teaching them the life skills needed to lead self-sufficient, rewarding lives
$25,000 would help the Kathleen Mary House to keep their doors open and continue to help victims of domestic abuse rebuild their lives.
Kathleen Mary House needs your help by voting for them to receive a $25,000 grant from State FarmĀ® to help improve their community.
